In 2003, Perfect Red was an intermix of Chicago's finest underground bands, comprising of Tony Kempa (drums), Tim Maeder (vocals), Billy Keller (guitars) and DJ Gorr (bass).
Shortly after guitarist Jeff Widelski joined, the band immediately began work on their first full-length album "rebuild the afterworld”. The independently released album gained acclaim in “The Best Of 2005" issue of the Illinois Entertainer and from scoring regular airplay on major radio stations that included Chicago's Q101 and Springfield's WQLZ, as well as on FearlessRadio.com, where it received "Listener's Choice".
Immediately following the tour in support of “rebuild the afterworld”, that included sharing the stage with various major label acts such as Disturbed and Pilla, the band added a new member, keyboardist Mark Wegener. The band then recorded “Thank You, Mr. Meltdown” which has received excellent reviews on the Internet, the printed page, and on-air broadcasts.
